1) What you're buying

Entry to a self-supported ultradistance cycling event in Vietnam. Places are limited and subject to acceptance by the Organizer.

2) Self-supported rules (summary)

  • You are responsible for your own food, water, lodging, repairs, and navigation, using services open to all participants.

  • Follow the official route and any control procedures we publish.

  • No outside/dedicated support. No drafting, except within registered pairs.

  • Obey local laws and ride responsibly; Leave No Trace.

  • You must complete the event within the 18-day cut-off.

  • You must start with all mandatory gear specified by the Organizer; a pre-start gear check will be conducted.

  • Full details are provided in the Race Manual sent to accepted riders.

3) Eligibility and insurance

  • Minimum age: 18. You must be medically fit for a demanding endurance event.

  • Proof of medical fitness: A signed doctor's note confirming you are medically fit to participate in an ultra-endurance cycling event must be submitted before the event start.

  • Proof of insurance: Personal insurance covering emergency medical care, evacuation, and repatriation in Vietnam is mandatory. Proof of coverage (policy document or certificate) must be submitted before the event start.

  • Failure to provide these documents may result in withdrawal of your entry without refund.

3A) Mandatory gear and pre-start check

  • Mandatory gear: Participants must carry the required safety and self-sufficiency equipment at all times during the event. The detailed list will be published by the Organizer in the Race Manual and may be updated for safety or regulatory reasons.

  • Pre-start gear check: Gear will be inspected prior to the event start. You must present your bike and kit for verification.

  • Condition and functionality: All required items must be present, functional, and appropriate for expected conditions. Non-functional or inadequate items may be rejected at the Organizer's discretion.

  • Compliance required to start; no refund: Participants who do not present all mandatory gear or who fail the pre-start gear check will not be permitted to start, and no refund or credit will be provided.

4) Compliance Reserve (10%)

  • A separate 10% "Event Compliance Reserve" is added to each entry.

  • Checkout text: "A reserve for late compliance requirements. Any excess will be donated to a local vetted charity."

  • The reserve may be applied to late-arising taxes, regulatory, or mandatory fees. Any excess will be donated.

5) Refunds and changes

  • Deposits are non-refundable once accepted.

  • Balance is due by December 31, 2025 and is non-refundable except for the medical exception below.

  • Medical exception: Up to 30 days before the event start date, participants may request a refund or deferral for medical reasons by providing a signed doctor's note stating they cannot compete. They may choose either:

    • a) a refund of 50% of the total entry fee; or

    • b) transfer of their full entry (100% credit) to a future edition of the event.

  • Deferral conditions: Deferrals are for the same participant, may be used once, and must be applied to the next edition or within 24 months (whichever is sooner). If the future entry price is higher, the participant pays the difference; if lower, no cash difference is returned.

  • Entries are personal and non-transferable. No refunds within 30 days of the start.

  • If the event is postponed or cancelled for reasons beyond our control, we may offer a deferral, credit, or partial refund at our discretion. We are not responsible for travel, visas, or other costs.

6) Assumption of risk and liability release

  • You understand this event involves significant risks, including traffic, weather, terrain, fatigue, illness, and limited access to medical care.

  • You accept these risks and are responsible for your choices during the event.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless the Organizer, staff, volunteers, and partners from liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation, except where caused by the Organizer's gross negligence or willful misconduct.

7) Data and privacy (short)

  • We collect only what we need to run the event (e.g., contact details, emergency contact, application info you choose to provide, payment confirmations via our processor, tracker ID).

  • We use trusted processors (e.g., Stripe for payments, email service, tracker/map provider).

  • You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing support@innerscape.cc.

8) Governing law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, with courts of Hong Kong having exclusive jurisdiction.

9) Updates

  • We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted on our website and participants will be notified by email.

  • Pre-event signature required: All participants must sign a copy of the latest version of these Terms before the event start. The signed document will be collected along with proof of medical fitness, insurance, and at the pre-start gear check.

10) Checkout’s “I agree to innerScape Race's Terms of Service”

"I am 18+, medically fit, and carry suitable insurance. I understand this is a self-supported ultracycling event with inherent risks and I accept them. I will provide proof of medical fitness and insurance, comply with all mandatory gear requirements, and sign the latest version of the Terms of Entry before the event start. I have read and agree to the Terms of Entry."
